WOYWW 235 Total Mess Wednesday

An interesting week has flown on bye at a rapid pace, it is officially Summer here in Australia and we started the season with some really amazing weather.  Sunday was family day where everyone pops into eat and set up the Christmas tree and help do the hard yard decorations stuff.   Then spent the next day in horrendous pain with the arm, another trip to the Dr's to get an injection, then yesterday was the cracker of a day.  Have you spent 5 1/2 hours in Ikea? Lunch and 3 cups of coffee later we were trying to get some moron male to load the car, gosh some men are hopeless.  Oh that is after I found the car on a different level to what the man bought us out onto with the big boxes of furniture and a bargain.  My arm is not the best, De's is stronger than mine but only just.

Digress a little here armed with my besty, who was flying on all 6 cylinders and research that had been done for the last 2 days with many hours of phone conversation..  We went armed with measurements of my office/craft room, we are doing a re-vamp of the space LOL.  Yep it is going to be my present to myself for my 50th which is rapidly sneaking up on me this month.  I have never in my whole life been so laughed out, had mind changed, had mind read and fiddled with, what if this? what if that? and, and, and.  Ikea is a dangerous place I really have to admit that, this is one thing in knowledge that I did leave the shop with, mind you I did spend a lot of money and the room will look amazing by the time my besty and I are finished.  She is one lady that you have to have in your life, she makes you laugh that much that you nearly pee yourself, she is frighteningly so like me and thinks like me, I am sure our mother had an affair and separated us at birth and stalled my growth to make it look like we didn't belong, but that is another crazy story.  Did I mention that we are from the same area in the country about 350 ks from here LOL.

So the office is in total turmoil today.  Boxed furniture just plonked down a bench top sitting on top of previous worktable, but it is going to look amazing.  We are now in December and the Christmas count down to the big day has begun, my tree is set up, I am not working until Christmas except on my office and life is well really nice except for the pain.

Yoda is sleeping in bed with Daughter, Oh she had a big week with receiving her award for Participation and Leadership with extra curricular activities.  I am so proud of my girl.  She is standing in the middle and is the shortest one there.  The principal of the school is presenting the students with their awards.

Yoda acknowledged that Mum was taking photo for a split second.

So for all who have come to visit from the desk hop, I thank you, please leave a comment I love them.  If you don't know what I am talking about the go and talk to Julia she can explain it all here.

Have a great crafting week everyone and thanks for reading.  Happy WOYWW

Hugs Eliza & Yoda

Good grief, haven't you got enough to do what with Christmas rapidly approaching! You sound like Julia, lol! Yeah, Ikea is dangerous, we have one about 15 mins away, the next closest is either Toronto or Chicago, 5 hr drive East or West. I think we lucked out, my hubby, not so much! Congrats to your daughter, loved all the different heights of the kids! Someone needs to tell Yoda it's summer!

How is it that summer is official in Australia and winter doesn't commence until the solstice around the 20th (not sure of exact day)? You guys really are ahead of us in more ways than one (grin).

Gotta love the new desk. I've NEVER been to IKEA. Our nearest would be about 1500 miles away. I live in a backward State and area of the country.

Once again, I'm sending congratulations to your daughter. And give Yoda a big hug from Bleubeard.

Your Christmas tree looks lovely! I'm working more or less full time at the moment and I would love to put ours up but I don't think it's going to happen. Not without a minor miracle, anyway :)
Your room will be fabulous! Who doesn't love IKEA? Luckily, there is no longer a store convenient to me (there used to be) :)

No room for me until I get home tomorrow night. I forgot to take it before I left. Am in Germany at the moment! all worn out but feeling Christmassy at last.
Love your tree, hope I get chance to put one up.
Oh Eliza! what are we going to do with you and that arm? Obviously it is not getting right, how long now since you hurt it. Revamp of room or not, you must take it easy.
Congratulations to Myrene on her award and love to the little fella who makes me smile each week.
Hugs, Neet xx

Hi Eliza - what a week and your arm still hurting too - so sorry. Ikea is such a frustrating place! We once tried to buy my daughter a bed there and I swear that don't actually want you to buy the stuff they display - under any circumstances! I still don't know quite how that bed is miraculously up there in her room! You must be so proud of your girl! She looks lovely receiving her award! Happy WOYWW! Julie Ann xx #52

We used to visit Ikea when we lived in Germany. We never bought any furniture, we only went for the scrummy ham and cheese rolls they sold in the cafe! It looks as though Yoda is contemplating hiding from the camera this week. Give him a hug from the bears.

Sorry to hear about your arm, I hope it gets better soon. I love going to Ikea but I only get to go when I am abroad since we don't have it here. So I also don't get to buy any furniture as it is to big to fit in my luggage. Your room is already looking great. How exciting to be redecorating!
happy WOYWW!

Oh no, that's not a good way to start off the season, I pray your arm is getting better, Eliza--but it sounds as if you're having a fabulous time, revamping your beautiful space, hanging with your besty, and congratulations to your dear daughter!

Give Yoda a petting for me,
Happy WOYWW to you!

I hope your arm feels better soon. Ikea is a very dangerous place to be when you are reorganizing. I can spend days in there. I hope you post pics of the finished room. #4

Eliza, shouldn't you be taking it a bit easier with that arm! I love Ikea, but since the move to America I have managed to steer clear of it and buy all my Ikea needs second hand :) Love the tree and Yoda looks very snug. Cx #31

Hi Eliza
I agree Ikea is a very dangerous and expensive place to go and I am suffering from withdrawal symptoms. haven't been for over a year now, Monday week daughter and I have a date with Ikea.
Great days when the kids get awards in school, you must be very proud.
Thanks for visiting

Hi Eliza,
I haven't had the Ikea experience yet. I see what people buy and am afraid that I'd get lost in the store and not know what to buy!

Congrats to your daughter for her award! AND, happy birthday!

Thank you for visiting me already!

Hi Eliza, I so enjoyed reading your blog today!! I can't wait to see your new craft room, the desk pictured is awesome!! I loved turning 50! (53 now) it is the age of empowerment!! When I go to Ikea, I have to have a firm plan in my mind as to what I am getting, there is so much choice ! I tend to leave twitching and drooling a little!
Your tree is beautiful! Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier! Ginny #18

Hello Eliza. I'm really late getting back to folk this week - I'm sure some of the days are missing each week at the moment. Yes, Ikea is a rather tempting place, isn't it? We got all our work desks from there last year - they are great, and just fit the spaces we have.
Take care of that arm, continue to laugh out loud, and have a good week.
