MIA/UPDATES/WOYWW 213

Yes I was missing in action last week, out of town for work and it was so difficult to obtain internet I just gave up in the end, frustrated.  I also really didn't want to post the pictures of my office because the office was in total mayhem.  So now I will explain, the carpet has been ripped up in the office, not sure as to what I am going to do for floor covering, I don't want carpet again, for obvious reasons, but I am undecided as to what I do want so for now it is going to be bare, horrible floorboards.   So here is a photo of the mess that was created to obtain this.  Crap pilled on top of my desk and all other possible surfaces.  The curtains were taken down, laundered and put back again, the floor scrubbed and everything washed, even the inside of the windows.  OK I know what you are thinking, spring cleaning, no way this is a total scrub-down and put back.  Furniture was moved to pull up the carpet but nothing was actually removed from the room, how clever is that, let me tell you, this was tricky, challenging.and exhausting.  When I have time spare I sure do make the best of it.  You see I was, with my one day off, meant to go shopping with a very dear friend to a paper supplier but she fell sick and bang, snap decision pull up the carpet. Really there is no mucking around when it comes to getting things done around here.

Then of course the outside is getting slowly sorted, the decking area is coming along, the roof is now nearly finished which looks fantastic so far, well I am pleased.  We have outdoor blinds that need to be put up, this will be done in due course. The decking area comes around the corner from another doorway and encompasses most of the rear of the property, this space is used all year round and many a cuppa/drink and conversation has been had in this area.  Butting onto this decking is the garage which can be turned into another enclosed area by removing the cars ATM the only car in there is mine as DH is at work, you might catch a glimpse of it in the background near Charlie the dog.

I did have a bit of a spending splurge on some products and I have some more on the way, just need to make arrangements to collect them.  I got the new dies from Joy crafts called fantasy flowers and they have been on my desk for the week with no playing time.  So many fun things to play with and not enough time.  A new magazine arrived today I think I will sit with that and have a good look and see what lies within soon.  It came with a 6 x 6 paper pad that looks divine from the cover but I have not actually looked inside it yet.  It's nice to obtain freebies with your magazine.  I have so many magazines that I have received these pads with and done absolutely nothing with them.  I should do some makes like the ones in the mag just to get something created, even if it isn't my own design.  So for me, life has been a tad busy in the fast lane, I think my holidays are well and truly over.  Last week I had sports games happening all over town and in Geelong, sorry Sandy didn't even get a chance to phone you to say I was in town.  Then the Rugby was in the city as well as the AFL: footy. This week has turned out busy with AFL and next week we have the Legends All Stars game happening.

So this is my desk, a little more sorted, awaiting me with patience.  I have just finished the end of the month business so maybe I will have a little look and see what peeks my curiosity and check out some desk from the other side of the world.  If you want to see some more desks then pop on over to Julia's place called the Stamping Ground because she hosts each week the best ever desk blog hop in the world.

Oh and Yoda he has a new little bed in front of the heater, he is feeling the cold and was lying on top of the heating vents so to stop him from doing that we got him a new little snug bed.  He is happy.... AS you can see he loves his new little bed, he sends his love to everyone..

Happy WOYWW to all if you visit please leave a comment I love them also if you are WOYWWer then leave your link number as this makes it easier for me to find you so I can return the same kindness.

Hugs Eliza & Yoda

Pats to Yoda he does look comfy.. we will catch up soon looks like you are in whirlwind mode with all those things happening at once.. Your area out the back looks fantastic and I am sure will get even more use now.. Good luck with the choice of floor coverings. I have tiles in my area and was thinking of moving to one of the kids rooms when they move out of course. But with the discovery of paints and all things messy and gluey, I think I will stick to the tiled area so easy to clean up.
Happy WOYWW
Sandy :)
We will catch up soon...

I love your pics, its lovely to see where our fellow WOYWWers live. the decking surround is awesome. I agree with you on no carpet- my olde craft room had carpet and it was a nightmare to keep clean( and free from glue/paint/dst, lol). Gone for laminate in my new room, its brilliant. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #41 xx

Yoda looks so happy, it just warms the heart to see our furbabies so well cared for and loved, doesn't it? :) Your spur of the moment carpet rip-up binge sounds like something I might do! lol If I might put my two-cents in...go for some sort of hardwood/laminated wood...it is so easy to care for and clean up all the crafty messes we can make. But do get something durable because your rolling chairs can be rough on the cheaper makes of flooring, just ask my living room floor! Which will have to be replaced eventually as my rolling desk chair has not done it any good. Oh well. That's life and home ownership, huh? :) Hugs dear and thanks for sharing the pics and from what I could see of the paper it looks beautiful! What brand is it? Not that I *need* any more paper but still...lol :) Deeyll #123

I put down floor tiles so they would be easy to clean. I never wash them down and currently they have 12 years of bits here and there. Except for the damage from the metal on the chair wheels they are great.
Yoda looks very content

Wow, you've been living life in the fast lane this week! I need a rest after hearing about all your work!! However, the results are worth it...that decking area is fab. I would spend all my time out there, I know. While I am a real outdoors girl, I can't stay in the sun for too long so having a shady area like that would be perfect. Couple of cold stubbies......bliss!!
I'd quite like a bed like Yoda's too.....ok, move over Yoda, I, coming for a snuggle ;-). Grin

Yoda really looks like a different cat these days, bless you. I, like the floorboards by the way. And am a bit jealous of your wrap around decking. The snap decision to just get it done is very familiar to me..I have the idea tha tit needs doing and then put it off for some time until one day, I feel in the mood...BAM! Nothing else gets done then, till it's finished. I do wonder at your energy levels though!

You are a woman of action. I only have floor boards in my craft room and i just give it all a mop when needed and its really no fuss. Love your pic of Yoda in the new bed. What Aussie house doesn't have a deck?? perfect for sitting, chatting drinking tea and the occasional art project that needs to air.

Aww, Yoda looks very snug in his new bed.
Change always come with a big mess, especially in a craft room but it will be worth it in the end. I have carpet on the floor in here but like you will change it when I decorate. Think I’ve decided on Vinyl as it’s easier to change if the need arises…..I’m always spilling stuff on the floor.

Happy Crafting!

I know the feeling about papers pads taking up residence in our craft room and not budging (thats my story and I'm sticking to it!!). I cant imagine pulling up carpet. I have floor rugs in my craft room that gets taken outside and shake in summer and vacumed in winter. Yes I am very busy but I am so over making these kits.

Love coming right back to Yoda.
Crikey Eliza, you certainly got the bit between your teeth with that make over. Not sure what to recommend for the floor covering. Had a makeover once and they put laminate flooring down for me - would not go down that route again. Good luck with yours and your choice.
Sorry I am so late visiting but things got in the way of computer time. Still are if truth be known.
Take care
Hugs, Neet xx

Ooh, how are the renovations going this week? I don't see you on WOYWW, probably up to your elbows in it! At least Yoda is warm and comfortable, doing the sensible thing by staying out of the way! Love the covered porch area, wish we had one of those. Hope it's not too chaotic!

Hugs
