Paperific Expo and Retail Therapy

Retail therapy is wonderful for the soul, it get into the brain cells and sparks the mind in creative thinking causing an influx of inspiration to create in ways that you normally wouldn’t consider.

Well Paperific which is our Melbourne art extravaganza festival was on this weekend.  I went on Friday, and it was fantastic, I wore my WOYWW badge and spent the whole day there.  Did not meet with anyone or spot anyone wearing the badge (boo hoo) maybe next time.  Did a few make and takes some which were so simple it was silly of me to partake in but I did.  I met up with a few people I know and rarely get to see because of my work schedule and that was fun, just to sit, have a cuppa and chat. Unfortunately Friday was my only day to play and I even did that on the QT LOL.

I went with a hit list of things that I needed/wanted LOL and I got them all and more, I am ecstatic to achieved what I have.  Came back home with the inspiration to get on with my creations with gusto.   I placed all my purchased on the desk and ran out of room, so I took a photo of the first lot, moved it off then took another shot.  Yep there is a lot there and a fortune spent but I don’t care, I got what I wanted.
Loads of die cuts, Tim’s Summer Collection of Distress Pads and refills, also refills for another set that I already had, refillable alcohol ink pens with blending solution, 2 larger sizzix dies, stamps from Penny Black, Hero Arts, Verses Rubber Stamps & Dylusions. Spellbinders, EzyCuts, Liquid Pearls, Glitter, Embossing Diffusers by Sizzix as well as another brand, as they had different shapes and placements, Templates, Stencils, a few back issues of magazines that I had not received.  I subscribed whilst I was there to the mag and got a free set of Tria Brights to go with the subscription. Metal cutting plate to save my B plates from damage, also another set of B plates for the Sizzix machine, the newly released Stamping Up catalogue for Christmas, Aqua Pens and some new tweezers and Scissors - I am a scissors junkie I think, hhmmm must do something about that LOL.  I lots my favourtie scissors a little while ago and I am on the hunt for that perfect replacement and it is a difficult journey that is for sure.
Overall a great day out, now I have to work but it makes working so much better, I just want to play because there is so much bouncing around in my head and it feels like a sugar adrenalin rush.
I have to make about 90 cards for Christmas for the Volunteers that work at the charity group that i volunteer with, I do it every year, make the Christmas cards that is, it is my way of thanking them for their year of service to the needy in the community and also the Committee of Managment thankyou.
So it looks like I am going to be busy for awhile but what do I do first? this is the dilema that I am facing LOL...............
