What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW 155)

NRL State Of Origin AT Etihad Stadium Melbourne

So my work desk is a little bit different this week, but this is sometimes the place that I am at.  I thought it would be funny to show the strange things that I get up to when at work.

I am still there been at work since yesterday and wont be going home until tomorrow most likely.  You see Melbourne is hosting the NRL (national rugby league) finals in Melbourne, last week we were filming the NRL footy show out of Crown Casino and tonight is the big momma of all games, I have been at work for days getting setup for the broadcast of the event.

So my desk is a little different, the public never get to see this side of TV because this is what is used to film, edit and upload via the satellite's and I say satellite's being more than one, that bounce the feed all around the place to then put it on your screens in your house and this is all done within 3 seconds of filming,   A heap of work goes into the preparation, of laying cables, setting cameras up, setting link feeds, audio, special effects, then you have extras done like hot spots, try's and well I could go on for hours, but I wont.

The photos with all the monitors are the editing desks this is what is used to put everything together before you get it on your TV

This section here is used for Audio (Sound)

Can you believe that all of the above comes out of the truck at the back of this picture.  This little van believe it or not does the special effects like stats and other player information.

This is Etihad Stadium in the wee hours of this morning, strange with no public in it yet but soon the people will start piling in and scream, shout and yell at the teams.  That's what supporters do right..... LOL

And of course this is the final whammy for you this week without this machine on the tripod nothing would go to air.  This is the main link to the satellite.
All of this is done underneath the stadium, I rarely get to see daylight, if it is raining or sun shining who knows.

I have absolutely no interest in the game to be honest, to me it is just a job, definitely a different job as each week the location changes many times, I never get bored, that is for sure.

Sorry no art, craft or even paper on my desk, Dads cat is back visiting and his chook too, they are happy, they are loved and they know it.

Eggbert (loosing her feathers, its getting cold I hope this is the reason)

Ditto my orange man keeping the main chair warm whilst I'm away, and you might see a little grey nose under the desk that is Tommy DH's cat waiting for me too.

and of course the other chair is being kept warm by Osama Dad's cat.  Computer desk covered in work waiting for me to come home too.  These photos were emailed to me to show me they were looking after my office whilst I'm away.  LOL

If you are wondering why I am doing this, many people, like me,  there is a huge following, showing off their desks from all around the world.  You can take a virtual tour from your computer and snoop, spy and joke around with them.  Please leave comments everyone likes it.  Like me the desks are all different and exciting too.  Head on over to Mrs J Dunnit at The Stamping Ground and see what it is all about. Here is the link.

Sorry it is a bit long this time, really wanted to keep it short, I know some are interested. LOL

Hugs and Happy Crafting to All.... Eliza

Forgot to say - there's actually two mannequins there - a little one is piggy-backing onto the big one! The big one is mine, and he's just a pal who hangs around my desk to keep me company. Micro-man I have plans for - just need the time to enact them!

Hi Eliza, loved reading your post, I suppose we are fundamentally 'nosey' about other peoples lives ( well I am any way) lol. Great pics and insight of what goes on behind the scenes, and of Eggbert, and your kitties and of course Osama, hope everyone is behaving while your away.
Take care.

Oh wow Eliza, what an absolutely fabulous "desk" you shared with us this week! I was absolutely fascinated to read it all, and see "behind the scenes" - what an interesting job you have! Also lovely to see the chicken and your beautiful kitties too. So it's getting cooler where you are... I do wish it was getting cooler here too - the heat completely does me in!!

In between the recent busy-ness and feeling totally grotty recently, I did manage to make my lovely hubby an anniversary card! You can see it on my blog.

Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi
