WOYWW 314

Firstly I am sorry for not getting back to people two weeks ago that visited me I had to leave town in a hurry for work then there has been a death in the family.

I have been flat stick trying to sort a few things and I am running around in what seems circles. On the up side the postie delivered to me a really wonderful piece of happy mail from Sandra De and a cute card for Yoda. If you only knew how much you cheered me up, thank you so much for that I will send you your ATC in the next few days.

Yesterday some more happy mail arrived and the postie knocked on the door with it, it was a big envelope filled with ATC's from the crop, goodness me how brilliant they all are, thank you so much ladies.  I did send a pile of mine to the headmistress to hand out which I know she did

This week the desk shot is of Yoda in his favorite spot in the bedroom window, his bed is over the heating vent so it is like a heated blanket.  I have not opened the curtains to try and keep some heat in and I have to head back to bed soon for some sleep.

Strange I look at this photo and think of how sick Yoda was when he first came to us and look at him now a perfect joy and so handsome and much more healthy.

Now the atc's starting from top right

Tattered rocks, Neet, Silvercrafter, Cindy, Kyla, Fiona, LLJ (I'm impressed you stamped) Shaz, Nikki, Julia, Bluebeard & Elizabeth, Zoe, Cardarian, Ros A, Twiglet, Chris, Helen, Maryanne (totally amazing little cube) Morti and the last one is from Sandra De that came with the Yoda card.  Oh and a totally beautiful tag made by Debbie (tattered rocks) thank you so much everyone for your beautiful work and making my day that so much better.

Here are some photos of my Camellia tree that is in flower at the front of my house, it is the same as the one looking out my bay window of the office but for some reason it isn't blooming yet.  I spent that last few days a few hours here and there, pruning my roses and pulling weeds in the front garden cleaning it up for winter, now onto the back yard for a clean up.

I do hope you enjoy these winter beauties.

Hugs to all and thanks for visiting my desk, if you want to see some more interesting desks pop on over to Julia's desk called the Stamping Ground and join in the desk hopping fun.

Hugs Eliza & Yoda

That lovely pile of ATCs is certainly "happy mail". A little bright cheer at a sad time.
Your camellia is beautiful. They are my top favourite flower and we have lots of them here too. Mine start flowering from the end of January!

Ups and downs and running in circles during trying times seems to be the rule, rather than the exception. Glad the ATCs cheered you, as well as Sandra's gorgeous Yoda card.

I was thrilled to get one of your cards. I don't know why more people don't do this (send to Julia in time for the crop). I thought of it two years ago, and now it seems like I'm there, except without the cake (grin).

Loved both "desk" shots today and Yoda looks very happy, but curious as ever. Hugs to him from Bleubeard and Squiggles. Happy WOYWW from #1.

Isn't it funny how these people whom you've never met can send these small bits of card to you....and it completely lifts the spirit at a time when you're low? That's the power and magic of WOYWW. hope you're feeling ok, sending big squishy hugs,
LLJ 17 xxxx

So sorry to hear your sad news. My condolences to you and the family.
On to better things: Yoda is looking particularly beautiful this morning sitting there in the sunshine, he really is a handsome cat and as you said, it is hard to think of him as he was when you first took him in. Not worth thinking about those horrid people.
Lovely atc's, lovely camelia - now have some time to sit and enjoy - with your boy of course.
Hugs, Neet 7 xx

Ah Eliza, my condolences girly, tougher times. Indeed, my first thought matched yours...Yoda is looking so well and confident, what a great home you've given him. So glad and relieved that the ATCs arrived, my word they seemed to take their time this year! Thank you for the gift you sent with your bunch of ATCs, it's in use and will brag about it very soon, of course! Your Camelia is just gorgeous, never seen one with so many blooms. They thrive well here on the southern coasts but take some caring for because of our inclement weather...it's quite a treat to spot one. Funny to think of them as a winter flower, for me they are a herald of the potential for some warm. Mind you, a warm day here is 18 c plus, so I guess it's all relative!

Gorgeous camellia! I have lots of them here too. They are my favourite flower. Thanks for your lovely ATC. It's funny that our ATCs had to go all the way to the UK only to find their way back here :)
Yoda is looking very happy, in his sunny spot.
Thinking of you at this time,

I'm so sorry to hear you've had a death in the family, Eliza, and I wish you comfort during this difficult time. I am sure Yoda is a great consolation and comfort - kitties always are! thank you for sharing such a lovely post, and I love all the ATCs, especially the portrait of Yoda! That is sooo cool!!! I am interested in the predominance of oranges and browns in the collection of ATCs - fascinating! Sorry I couldn't be involved this year.

Thank you for such an encouraging and lovely comment - I have been challenged lately that I do not do enough for other people, and when I received my marvellous quilt I was determined to do something and "put something back in the pot" - I took all the bags in their boxes in when I went for my treatment yesterday and was completley overwhelmed by the response - far beyond what I expected, from both patients and nurses alike. The nurses couldn't believe I'd thought of doing such a thing! Making them has been such fun and given me so much, and helped take my mind off things. Chemo is awful and it's lovely to be able to make it just that little bit easier by reaching out with a bit of love and joy. My next project, which won't be so pressured because I can't make a whole collection in 3 weeks, will be chemo angels!

Beatrice has lost a whole lot of fur and the vet says it's because of stress because I'm having chemo. Bless her - I told her I wasn't going to lose my hair with this particular chemo I'm on, and she didn't have to come out in sympathy and lose it instead! The poor little thing is looking awful.

Hugs to you and God bless you.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #61

Thannk you for your lovely comment, Eliza - very encouraging! I am certainly not pushing myself and will be taking my time making the chemo angels. I am happy to report that after giving me a wide berth, Beatrice came up on the bed of her own accord this morning and snuggled right up for a really long cuddle! I was overjoyed. I think she knows that even if I smell horrible with the chemo, I am still her mummy and love her just the same! I just wish she'd hurry up and grow her fur back because the poor little thing looks such a fright.

She sends a kitty kiss to Yoda!
