Not a lot happening today on the desk, stuff that has been out for days due to working commitments. I have had a really bad week to be honest. My son Michael had to have emergency surgery for a hand injury, he severed 2 tendons in his hand and an artery, not nice. He is ok, home and recuperating but for me quite scary. So the stress levels this week have been high. Now for months of recovery and wondering if his hand will ever work the same. He is such an active boy, this is going to be a challenge for him to slow down. I need to throw myself into art to relax but can't, DeDe was meant to come and play but work got in the way, not happy about that but what can you do when others let you down. I so miss my bestie. So my desk is as it was left from last friday. Myrene has been doing some bead work and I have been trying to do some background effects playing with the pan pastels. I did make some cards with some blow pens of my DD's a copy from a magazine from the UK.Yoda is happy, here he is getting his most loved thing apart from food, CUDDLES. Myrene has just had a swim and is all wet, but that doesn't stop him.

But dear YODA what a treasure!!Cats(and dogs) can be such a comfort.My puss knows when I'm upset.She isn't a cuddles cat, but she tolerates cuddles much longer when I'm upset.Wish I could give you a comforting cuddle too. Thinking of you!

Oh I love Blo-pens! Such a cool effect - and why is it there are always cool things for kids that we forget about? I have a stash f these someplace and I remember YEARS back playing with inserting a different sort of pen into the "blo" attachment and getting a decent result. Now I want to find them and have another go! {sigh} It's always the way with WOYWW - I come away with a long list of things I want to buy, things I want to try, ideas to develop.... :)

Sorry to hear about your sons mishap, hope he recovers fully and he will as youngsters do. I havent played desks for awhile as I've been really busy and about to move interstate. Will probably post a final desk before we pack up and go

Oh my word Eliza..I can imagine how scared you were..it's heart stopping when your children have to go through stuff like this - so much easier if we could do it for them! I must say that now he's hme and healing, you have no control over that art, so try to relax...when it comes to physio,then you have a say and the work he does will definitely impact on his long term use ...ask me how I know - that's when you can be on the case. Meanwhile, as soon as DeDe is free, get together and immerse. Of course, if I could, I would step on a plane right now.
Sorry to hear about your son Eliza, hope he can make a full recovery. Keep your chin up, things will get better, at least you don't have all this snow to contend with! Yoda looks so happy, glad the vet also gave him a clean bill of health too. Consider yourself hugged my friend.

Oh goodness, Eliza - what a terrible thing to have happened. It's always worse when its your kids....I sincerely hope that the operation etc has repaired the damage. Now only time and good physio can make the difference. Poor lad but POOR YOU also. You could have just done with DeDe's company now, I bet....sending massive healing hugs to you both.

Hope your son's hand heals well, my DD's op went fantastically well and the drs say she will be back in the pool in two weeks! Hopefully your son will get good news too, these kids can really take years off your life, can't they?

I can't possibly imagine the stress you have been through this week due to your son's injury. I remember awhile back when Bleubeard got sick, I couldn't sleep or eat just waiting on the vet to figure out what was wrong with him. Now he's well, but your son will be, too, at least in time.
Bleubeard is now asking for cuddles, just like Yoda got. He's hibernating in the office where he can keep warm, while Yoda finds a decent spot under the AC, I'm sure.
