WOYWW 231

The sun is shining lots today and we are in for a warm day of about 29 or 30 degrees (lovely) I really enjoy the warmth.  Yesterday was the Melbourne Cup Race and the whole nation stops to watch this one race, silly really but this is what they do, we even have it listed as a holiday.  Are there any other countries in the world that have a holiday for a horse race?

Anyway onto the main reason you are here, to check out my desk, well you will not be disappointed, it ihas been in full swing this last week.

I managed to finish off my Christmas Card Sets all 7 of them into their Enveloboxes you can see them here.  I had a play day with my BF although it was not Thursday but Sunday we still had a play and created some strange art you can read about it here.  I think Di chucked hers in the bin I persisted and created 2 cards.

Yesterday was the day for accomplishments, I managed to empty 2 boxes albeit small boxes of Christmas paper off cuts (they are on my desk near the stocking) and create 9 cards in total all from scraps, the sentiment I had to use a fresh die cut for but overall a successful use of all the bits.  I do hate having to throw those blessed little pieces that are so pretty into the bin.  There were these odd shaped triangles as off cuts too and I managed to create a tree out of them, really pleased with that and all the while Yoda man was sleeping at my feet.

Yoda didn't want to get out of bed this morning, (he is not a morning person believe me) so here he is under the doona.  Ssssshhhh don't tell him I did this..

The best of surprises turned up on Friday my bunting that I won from Lunch Lady Jan it is on the desk, but most of all a surprise for Yoda, A Christmas Stocking just for him, the other cats are jealous.  Also received a lovely little card it is on the desk in front of the tool carousel.  Thank you so much Jan it is fantastic and when I can brave the ladder I am hanging it over my desk in the bay window that I sit, I really do love it heaps.

Talking of bay windows, out my window today you can see my Rose arbor filled with pink roses in bloom (called Bantry Bay), I have tried to zoom in a shot for you to see, the wide shot from the desk creates to much glare to see.  I do have to admit I have a wonderful view of the world from my desk.

So for me this is my week, filled with all sorts of stuff, what have you been up-to?  Show us your desk, I love to have a snoop whoops peek with the thanks of Julia at The Stamping Ground, find out more here.

Please I ask if you come, leave a comment I love them and your link number, sometimes it is really hard to find you and return your visit without it, there are so many lovely names on Julia's list.

So off with me, I have a really big day ahead of me filled with appointments, I will return asap and surf the desks along the way with mu iPad, thanks for visiting and have a lovely crafting week.

hugs Eliza & Yoda

Your roses look beautiful, must be our gorgeous weather we've been having. Although I would love to have some rain as our tank is empty and the lawn is brown. Have a great week,

I really tickles me to see my stuff in a desk the other side of the world!! Glad you like the items :-)
That view is gorgeous..I wouldn't get any work done, I'd just sit and stare! Absolutely beautiful.....especially on a dark, grey autumn day in the UK.

Wish we did have a holiday for a horse race. (or two or three) Oops, no I am retired so it wouldn't make a difference to me.
Well done on finishing the cards - and on using up all those scraps - what a lot and how busy have you been!
Am being as quiet as I can so not to waken Yoda, bless him. Enjoying the view from your window and have been to see your DIZA makes.
Hugs and love to you all

Hi Eliza and Yoda! Thanks for visiting me and your helpful hints, do I detect slight cynicism? hey I can take it, I do know how bad things have got!
I think I often try the push and shove method, and now I really want tidy space (it never lasts)! The problem is that stuff gets moved to somewhere else just transferring the issue!
Yoda looks so comfy, and what a great stocking! Love your workspace, it looks so organised, clutter free, bright and inviting, and your rose arbour is gorgeous! The funny thing is that it is so mild here that my roses are blooming again when I should be giving them a winter prune!

Eliza,
thanks for visiting me, the puddings are not made yet, when I read the recipe it said mix and leave overnight, so no nice smells until tomorrow.
I love those dark red cards, so simple yet so effective, I might feel a bit 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery' coming on. Not of course copying but a variation on a theme if that is OK with you.
Yoda looks so sweet under the covers, Max refuses to be covered up at all. Looks very offended if we try.
Enjoy your nice warm day, I am wearing gloves to type this.

Lots of holiday cheer there! Your cards are lovely, and that stocking is amazing! I am with you with the lovely holiday papers, I save the scraps to make stuff as they are too pretty. Most of the time I make a lot of gift tags. Yoda has the right idea all snuggled up! Winnie#66

Love what you did with all your bits and pieces! Those triangle trees are great.

I'm with Yoda, I never want to get out of bed when it's that cold either. :-D

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier and for the kind comments.

Tell Yoda I'm not a morning person either but work demands it. My cats are annoyingly perky in the morning. Our city closes down for a two day Rodeo-lots of horses (and cows) and a non-motorized parade so I can relate to a non-normal holiday. I never know what to concentrate on-the view out your window or all the lovely stuff on your desk.

We don't have a national holiday for it, but two great races bring us all out to the betting shops..the Gold Cup and The Grand national...funny isn't it, how important a single race becomes in the calendar!
Love your Christmas cards and the use of the scraps..good on ya gal, gracious you're on right roll! Recognised Jan's fabric works straight away, how lovely.

Happy WOYWW and congrats on the No.1 spot. I cannot imagine doing Xmas crafting whilst having such 'summery' weather! We have the opposite problem with our cat. She always wakes early and will then pester me for her breakfast. Ali x #55

I must admit I didn't read your post thoroughly - it's past bedtime and I'm very tired!
I love your diza days artwork (yup hopped over to that shortly).
I also can't really throw away cut offs, I feel I sould be creative enough as to use them, so to get the maximum out of my (big enough) stash, and to reduce waste as well.
I think my stash of scraps is about as big as my stash of non-scraps now! Lovely desk, congratulations on the bunting and cute cat!

Happy belated WOYWW :) Oh my gosh what a lovely sight is your window view... It's a good thing that the workdesk isn't mine, for I would be spending way too much time just looking outside, too little time for crafting remaining then, lol.
You've been so busy, wow, I still have to make my first Christmas card! And that photo of Yoda is too cute (I won't tell him no, shhh). Hugs and happy day

I had to stop by and compliment you on winning LLJ's bunting. And of course, I had to see Yoda, too, because you are always so good to Bleubeard and me, even when we don't play in WOYWW (so of course, no number to hunt for). Thanks for your continued support and comments, even though I'm slow in returning the favor!
