I was MIA last week, I think it did more harm for not being able to get around the desks and visit everyone, I really didn't realise how much this day of the week cheers me up. This has been such a regular thing since starting and is the first I have missed.
I have had such a hard time, my BF had surgery on her hand, during the process she became unable to articulate and talk, she was paralysed. So with her being so unable to talk and in a panic because she didn't know if it was permanent or not, luckily it wasn't but a bed side vigil was necessary as she has no family to fall back on, I am not only her BF but her NOK. So for me it has been hospital, hospital and more hospital, no art, no work, yep you read it right, no work. I took time off to make sure she was secure and OK. So my desk is boring, filled with paper from weeks ago on a card I was working on and my diaries for work which has been my only source of sanity. Yes rosters have to be done and business still happens in my world but I was not on the road working, just driving to and from the hospital.
So onto something happy, my fur babies, this morning we have my Charlie Dog and the now Mr Cone head (he has torn some fur from his body by over cleaning himself ) enjoying the morning sun, whilst the master on the manor Yoda was wrapped in his blankie. It has been really cold in the mornings here as winter is fast approaching. So this is me this week, boring sorry, but I made it on here, that's a bonus for me. I will return any visit that anyone that visits me. I also want to thank a few of my regular visitors for caring enough to find out where I disappeared to last week, it was so kind on you all, you know who you are.
Want to see more then pop on over to the Stamping Ground Blogspot and travel to fun and exciting places. I had to get my passport out this morning and as I took this photo I thought, if only I could travel to see some of my dear friends overseas, you never know it might happen.
Happy WOYWW to all and thank you Julia for hosting us again, you really are a wonderful person for bringing so many together with like minded souls.

Well, Eliza, you do realise that if you ever did come to the UK, there would be a whole line of us WOYWWets happy to put you up, with me at the top of the list!! I even have two cats for tickling duty!!
I'm sorry that you've had such a worrying week with your friend, poor girl, that must have been a horrendous experience to undergo for something as run of the mill as a hand op.....brrrrrr, makes me shiver. Good for you for being there for her...I really hope she's starting to feel better now.
And tell Yoda, he's looking a bit sultry all wrapped up in the blanket like that!

So sorry to hear about your BF but what a wonderful friend you are to her. Thank goodness the paralysis did not last long. There are not many folks about who would have given up so much for a friend so I am sending you a big virtual hug for being so wonderful.
Thanks for the pics of the furry family, nice to see Yoda wrapped up so well and hope Mr Cone Head gets his fur back, especially as you say it is getting cold now. Love to them both and Charlie Dog from me. And some for you too.

Your BF is very lucky to have you, not sure what a NOK is, but is sounds supportive because it sure sounds like she had a scary time. LOVED the picture of Yoda, that bought a smile to my face! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥
Sorry to hear about your friend...that must have been scary. Hope you can get around to doing some crafting soon. It is such a stress reliever for me. I love animals but Yoda takes the cake. Oh I smile big time seeing the fur babies...they are under your desk in your amazing room aren't they Eliza? OMG I'm a ditz...I kept thinking wow Elizabeth loves her coke as it was on your desk each week and today I can see your name on the label LOL and that's why you have kept it!!! I didn't find an Annette one when they did that promo thoughI am sure there was one...just not when I looked.

Hell Eliza, the world needs more friends like you. So glad to read that your BF is recovering, I can quite understand her fear, and hey, however long away from your desk, I'm thinking at least you got some relax time...even if it means running around like crazy again now! Bless you.

Well, that's why I ended up at the hospital last week! I must have just been sympathizing with you over the miles...too bad I couldn't have just been visiting some else! Although I bet that was pretty stressful on you, too. I can only imagine if any of that happened to my BF...it sounds kinda terrifying! I'm glad she is doing better now and you were able to join up for WOYWW. And I already knew what a great friend you are but don't you forget it, okay? Eliza, what a time you have had! I'm so sorry for your friend; how terribly frightening for both of you! You are a saint for giving up everything to be by her side and she is indeed blessed to have you. I hope you are cheered up this week and things return right side up for you!

You are a wonderful friend to let your whole life come to a stop and be there to support her. Everyone needs a friend like that when they are faced with something awful. She must have been so scared...glad everything worked out OK.
Oh poor cone head :( does look like he is cozy there though.. Yes its been cold in the mornings glimpse of things to come.. Yoda all snuggles up there.. Glad you could get a chance to post up and join in today after the tough time with your BF, hope she is all on the mend now.. Yea its nice to see a bit of green just out the back, still big cracks in the ground right down the back of the yard though.. Its been so dry and only now is the water tank filling up to a decent level..

So thats why you were missing, well a photo of your feet in hospital would have replaced a desk. Anyway that would have been scary to be in her situation and what an awesome friend you are to take time to be with her. what is NOK-Next Of Kin? Glad to see you back.

It’s amazing that the internet can bring together so many likeminded people and I’m grateful that WOYWW has also brought along so many new friends, thanks to Julia.
It sounds like you’ve had a rough time of things Eliza but you’ve proved yourself a real BF. I’m pleased that she’s making some progress but it must have been really scary for her. Despite all that, your desk is looking busy, even if it was from a previous crafting secession and your furry friends look very contented.

How lovely for your friend to have you as her BF Eliza.I hope things are improving for her after this scary ordeal. I'm sure coming home to the fur babies has helped, you know what they say about stroking your pets, it is a great stress reliever. Love the pics of your gang, Yoda looks so cute under his blankie.

I do hope your BF is on the mend. Having no voice is very scary indeed! I can relate only too well having lost my voice for months. Regained only by surgery. Your fur babies are adorable.
