Altered Tins

I started this project after collecting a huge tin from the Asian grocers that had Oyster Sauce in it.  I had used the tin to store my sponges in and thought after awhile that I should cover it.  Then I wanted another and another.  I also had this old tin that was a barley sugar tin on my desk holding markers for ages, so that got added to the altering list too.  The Paper I have used is from Zetta Florence, purchased in Brunswick Street Fitzroy, such a yummie shop, I could stay there all day drooling over their stock wanting to take it all home with me.  So paper, flowers, ribbons, beads and bling with a little work and I have these wonders on my desk fulfilling their purpose, being useful.

So here they are from all different angles, sorry it
does go on a bit.

This is the large green tin
that I keep my tapes in.

 Door Knobs for legs......

Then I made a little one to match for my markers that are always on my desk.

So with the other large tin, again I put it on legs that were doorknobs and decorated this one with the pink paper from Zetta Florence with ribbon, flowers.

This large pink one is used to store my sponges in.  I have some of  Tims applicator tools on the top but they wont stay there because I have ordered one of those craft spinners that should roll up in the next week or so.

So this is the pink version

then I created another small pink one for the odd markers that I used all the time.  I am quite pleased to have finished these tins and I might add another in time but not at the moment.

Enjoy Eliza

Oh Eliza, you put me to shame! I've got grotty old Smash instant mashed potato tins with my paint brushes in them, and keep thinking I MUST do something about them - your tins are so beautiful! One day... Trouble is there always seems to be something "more important" to do! I love the papers you've used, and the beaded braid as well. Just gorgeous.

Happy belated WOYWW,

Hi Eliza, me again! Thanks for your great comment, and yes please, hop over and play any time!! (What a pity Australia is on the other side of the world...) At least I am up half the night so our time scales would probably fit!

I'm not sure my hubby would agree that I should be norty more often... He's very good, but what the eye doesn't see, the heart doesn't grieve over lol! I just felt in dire need of some retail therapy after being poorly (at least, that's my excuse lol, and I'm sticking to it!!) Looking forward to having some Serious Fun with my new goodies soon! Still lots to catch up on first though!

Love love love 'em! They are so pretty! You did a fantastic job covering them and I love your paper and embellishment choices, they coordinate and compliment each other very nicely! :)
Making me rethink my extremely functional but not extremely beautiful organization and storage choices...Do we have to have only one of the two? Not you! You got both! booyah :)
