'T' For Tuesday - MyoTT AuTumn

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY

BLUEBEARD & ELIZABETH

T Stands for Tuesday an in my case another acquisition of china that I have managed to dig out from my collection and it is Myott Autumn Collection.  I love the colours in this setting all rich with the fall of leaves and creamy nature of the china from that era of Staffordshire Pottery in England.  They just don't make china like this anymore and to be honest it is now a serious business of collecting the old stuff.  Slowly plates get chipped and cups crack and handles fall off, this stuff should be washed on a regular basis not kept in a cupboard to be glamour pieces, the washing of the china actually helps to stop the crazing and nasties from damaging your investment, whether it be an heirloom of your mothers, or grandmother or you found it in a garage sale and your trying to find all the pieces to the set, it can be done, this I do know.  I have been collecting for years and years.   Unlike some people I actually enjoy using my china pieces when having people over for Coffee and cake or for the family dinner party occasions.  I get a real kick out of bringing the china out and which one I will use for the food that is going to go with the theme.

I mean it is all about display.  I did plan on getting some cakes or slices today from the bakery but time today has been manic even before the sun got out of bed.

So sorry about the simplicity of the display.  I have actually achieved so much this week with many cards made, sons birthday dinner which was postponed from the last weekend.  I finished off not 1 but 2 CrocheT blankets, you can read about them in a former post.  See there is another 'T' and the many baby cards that I have been creating although you can only see one baby card posted so far.  I will do that in tomorrows post.  Here is the 'T' for Trash Bin to show you my progress.

I also went to see my bestie and had a play day today, this is most important.  I think it is our third in the last week so I have been very attentative with my bestie. We also got a Stampin Up order that arrived on her doorstep whilst I was there so that was a bonus.  But no time to play with it tonight, I will pull it apart tomorrow and see the goodies.

How have I managed to do this you ask, ah ha I actually took off a few days to play and revitalize my batteries in the body (it's handy being your own boss at times, hey I can dictate the way things are done)  I'm not much of a control freak. LOL and I have had one very productive week and I have really only just started.

DH & DD went to Tasmania on
Thursday to Sunday to watch their beloved football team loose and I got the house to myself with the animals, we were all in the 7th Heaven stage with total bliss and silence.   So what have you been up to today? why don't you share with
Bluebeard & Elizabeth at 'T' Stands For Tuesday.

I truly enjoyed this post, Eliza, AND the tips you gave about collecting and saving. Before I moved to Wichita, I gave away FIVE, count them, FIVE full sets of china because I had no room for them. I've always felt like you, anything breakable should be used because it just goes to waste if you don't.

Your china pattern is lovely, and especially precious now that winter has set in where you live. And of course, I'm simply thrilled that you (add Yoda) could take time out to join us for T this Tuesday. And I hope your son had a spectacular, albeit belated, birthday and celebration.

Love your china! I sadly sold all of the sets I had collected...these darn unpredictable hands...I was dropping and breaking too many pieces. Best someone else enjoys it now and keeps it safe. Sweet little crochet blankets. Bet Yoda would love one of them. ;) Hugs

That's a lovely pattern. I had no idea that using china would help with crazing. Thx for the advice :)

Happy T Anniversary!

Happy T day! Oh Eliza you are so right about how they don't make the quality of china now as it used to be made. It's why I really cherish my old pieces. Sounds like you got quite a bit in lately! Crochet work is beautiful and oh what fun to get new supplies in the mail:)

Although I am not a collector of china, I'm glad that you actually use yours. Half the fun of owning an item is being able to use and enjoy it, right?

I'm glad you're enjoying your time off, and I hope you had a good T Day!

What a lovely tea service set (or whatever they call them as I am not well versed in tea jargon--LOL!). The blankets are just lovely! Crafty playing with a friend is always the best fun! Happy T-Day anniversary! :)

The china sure is beautiful, and I found it interesting that washing it actually helps preserve it.

The crochet blankets are beautiful, too!

Happy T anniversary!

Hello and Happy T Day! Your table setting is gorgeous!! Not simple at all! Still love those blankets, pretty. Sounds like your week was busy, good to be your own boss and take days off when needed, YAY! Hope you enjoyed your day.

p.s. I saw your comment on my blog about not seeing the photos. If you look back and read it my name shows up in the sentence and says to click on it, that will take you to the post I wanted to share. Hope this helps and if not let me know. I do hope it does so you can enjoy it.
Thanks for sharing!

You have been busy! I waffle between use and don't use... Every once in a while a piece of my Willow ware gets a chipped or I drop a bowl (that was agony). On the other hand I get to see it which is a joy. Glad you got to re-charge and hope you get to use your new goodies soon.
