After finishing the first baby blanket I decided to do another for the little sister that would probably feel delighted and excited over the new arrival of her new brother or sister but still in some way be feeling left out. So not to be overpoweringly different I made another blanket for her. So both are now finished and ready to be wrapped in tissue for the giving. I am going to make a little gift tag/card for both before handing them over. Here they are, they measure about 1.5 meters in square a nice size for sitting snuggled under as well as wrapping the new born up in. I did different final edges on both the baby one has what I call a backwards stitch as you crochet in the backward mode and the little girls blanket has a larger border of condensed crochet. I am really happy with how they turned out and it is nice to have that feeling. I stopped crochet after my mother passed away about 8 years ago as she used to push me along to use up her scraps, but doing these again actually made me re-connect with her in a spiritual sense, maybe I am going mad.
Hugs Eliza

Lovely blankets and how wonderful for you to feel connected to your mother through crocheting.
