WOYWW 187

A new year is now upon us and how many of you have made those resolutions that you have many other years before you and not followed through with?  hhhhmmmm   You will be pleased to know that I made one and it is to try and continue to keep my desk in a manageable order, yes, you all say 'I made that one too', but I made this a few years ago and I am sticking to it. so I call this one the continuing resolution.   Also to try and use my products more. Then and this is the clincher to get started on the Compendium Of Curiosities Book 1 and do the challenges then purchase Book 2 and do them too.  To me this is big, I have to find the time, products and actually sit down and do the blessed challenges, so the other part of my resolution is to give myself more time to play.

My Baby (Myrene) turns 18 tomorrow and I have mixed feelings about it, not because I am getting older, it is more about her growing up and I don't want to let go.  Thank the heavens for small mercies that she is not driving a car yet, she has had no interest.  My son on his 18th birthday went and got his license and it near killed me with stress.  So I am pleased that she is not at that stage.  She is however having a few friends over for a party so I have loads of stuff to prepare in order to make it the best for her.

So my desk is not tidy it is messy in my opinion as I am in the middle of a card make and need to get on with it.   People seem to be dragging my away from my desk when all I want to do is hover towards it. It is so not fair, I finally get a few days off from work and this happens, ah there is no rest for the wicked.  At least I am loved, what more can I ask for.

I did achieve this week after posting late to cruise around every ones desk there were not that many so the challenge wasn't as good as other times but I still get around to them all.  I wanted to finish the year with the accomplishment.

I do hope you all had a wonderful time breaking in a new year, it is hard to believe it is all over, Christmas gone and dusted, where did it go........  New Year already started........

Anyway my desk.............

Want to see more then pop on over to Julia's place called the Stamping Ground and check them out, you never know who you might meet up with or even befriend over time.  I have picked up some really beautiful friends on this travel and now they mean the world to me.

Ah and I received a lovely card the other day from Cardarian, wow that is one really beautiful card.  I admired the card on her blog when she made it, let me tell you it is absolutley brilliant in real life.
I also forgot to mention that Sandy @ Lonley Cards sent me a birthday card the week before Christmas thank you so much ladies they really touched my heart.

I too got to make it to all the desks last week, lol course it's not the usual boast since it was only half full! My resolution this year is to not dye my hair, I am curious as to what color and how much grey is there, lol I have such lofty goals! waving hi from the soggy not yet WOYWW hills of North Carolina :)

great looking desk and I love those cards! I had similar feelings when DD turned 18 and moved away. I was devastated to say the least. We start driving at 16 here and in some cases of need even earlier so the driving didn't bother me over much. Hope you have a Happy and Prosperous New Year! I look forward to seeing your posts in 2013! Vickie #17

Love the cards and the view from your desk is lovely. I think I would spend most of my time day dreaming out the window. The years just fly by when you have teenagers.

Your butterfly's are so pretty! Is,that a IPAD holder, over, there on the right hand side of your desk? Hum, if it is, that might save my poor IPAD.

Happy birthday to your daughter. Hope she has a wonderful day. My littles are 10 & 7 and I feel like they are growing too fast. I will probably be a wreck by 18. So hugs to you. And your butterfly card looks beautiful, hope you'll get some uninterupted time soon.

Lovely cards, lucky you.
Can t;ell you that it does not go any easier being a mum. Sorry. My son is 47 now and I still make excuses to ring him if I hear of accidents on the roads. Think by the tone of his voice he knows!!
Take care, try not to worry too much and enjoy the New Year.
Hugs, Neet xx12

Your desk may not be tidy, but I certainly wouldn't describe it as messy. It just looks like you stood up and took a picture in the middle of a project -- or maybe are just coming back to a project you got dragged away from.

I too love to see pets with WOYWW posts. Mister Snoozy's real name is far more dignified: it's Vladimir. He looks a bit orange in my picture, but that's down to poor lighting, poor photography, and poor photo-editing -- he's actually dark grey!

Fantastic bits on your desk and the cards you have received are gorgeous. My daughter has just turned 16, I'm dreading when she is 18 as she's still my little girl. Actually a month before her birthday I'm 40 so double celebration (I think). She is 17 this year and in the UK that's when you can start to learn to drive, I'm dreading it. Good news, after I melted my heat gun I was using it for a couple of months but my OH did buy me a melt part so no more foil. Thanks for the advice on the salt techniques, I shall be having a go again shortly when I replace the salt from the cupboard!!!. Hope you managed to get some time in the craft room. Happy Woyww :-) Kerry xx
