Part of my busy week

This week has been one of my busiest weeks in the year apart from Christmas of course when the Cricket is broadcast out of Melbourne on Boxing Day.  This time of year we have the AFL Footy Finals where the 2 remaining teams battle it out for the winner.  On my plate I have had the Brownlow Medal Count Red Carpet Broadcast out of Crown Casino, then the Grand Final Footy Show from Road Laver Arena, photos below, followed by the Grand final Breakfast Shows broadcast out of 2 venues, 1 being Crown Casino and the other Etihad Stadium then the actual Grand final.  By this stage I am in a state of near collapse and I am serious.  Along the way I managed to snaffle a few shots of the Grand final Footy Show that was broadcast on Thursday night here in Melbourne from Rod Laver Arena.  So sorry I couldn't post them before now for obvious reasons.  (Yes the show needed to go to air first, no leaking of precious information) This is the setting up for the show on the Wednesday, I do have to say some of the lighting shots were awesome, massive banks of lights that took days to build and then there were the rehearsals.

This circle rotates - so you can walk on the ceiling

before being raised to the roof again

Same banks of lights but raised above the stage

Banks of lights with different effects

These are the same lights but at stage level and they are
nearly touching the stage and they are taller than me.

Thought you might like to see another side of my life behind the scenes, no I am not involved in the lighting stage just thought you might like to see another angle of my life.  Once this show was over I was at Crown Casino for the team to commence setup for the Grand final Breakfast, then to Etihad for the same event but a different show.  I am so glad this week is over, now I hopefully can get some rest I have worked in excess of 123 hours in the last 7 days.

So anyone that I have not replied to on WOYWW I am sorry I am trying to catch up.....

Happy Crafting.

Eliza

wow that is awesome, I love backstage stuff, my younger daughter is learning lighting for this kind of event at Tafe. She worked as an usher at Jersey boys in Sydney and loved the lighting part.
